Rugby World Cup 2019 Guide

Following the pool stages, only three of the four home nations remained in contention at Rugby World Cup 2019. England and Wales went through as winners of Pool C and Pool D respectively, whilst Ireland went through as runners-up in Pool A. Scotland failed to make it out of Pool A after their defeat to host nation Japan left them in third place.

England and Wales then progressed through the quarter-finals with victories over Australia and France respectively, but Ireland lost out to the All Blacks.

In the Rugby World Cup semi-finals, England stunned the All Blacks to reach their fourth final, but Wales were edged out by the Springboks.

After six weeks of spectacular rugby, New Zealand beat Wales in the bronze medal match and South Africa overpowered England in the World Cup final.
