Ireland closed their autumn series with a 13-10 victory over Australia in a scrappy encounter at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The hosts suffered a blow prior to kick-off when Johnny Sexton was ruled out through injury with Jack Crowley taking his place. The replacement fly-half struck a penalty kick in the 10th minute to give Ireland the lead and calm any nerves. Despite Australia having the majority of possession, the first half ended 3-0 to Ireland. Bernard Foley levelled the score for the Wallabies with a penalty kick in the 55th minute. Bundee Aki crashed over from short range to score Ireland's only try in the 67th minute. The Wallabies immediately replied with a try from Jordan Petaia, which Foley converted to level the game again.
