South Africa dominated New Zealand to win the Qatar Airways Cup with a record 35-7 victory at Twickenham. The Springboks had built a 14-0 lead with a confident first half display. A sustained period of early pressure was eventually rewarded with a try for Siya Kolisi in the 18th minute. That was after New Zealand had seen two of their players sent to the sin bin for repeated infringements near the try line. Kurt-Lee Arendse capitalised on a loose pass to score South Africa's second try in the 34th minute. Things got worse for the All Blacks just before half-time when Scott Barrett was shown a second yellow card for a dangerous ruck clearout, which resulted in an automatic red card. After the break, Malcolm Marx, Bongi Mbonambi and Kwagga Smith scored further tries as the Springboks built an unassailable lead.
