Scotland v France Match Reports

An impressive comeback from 14-man Scotland saw them defeat France 25-21 in a World Cup warm-up at Murrayfield. Despite scoring first through a Finn Russell penalty kick, Scotland were on the back foot for most of the first half. France led 21-3 at the break thanks to three well-worked tries from Batiste Couilloud, Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Cameron Woki. Scotland made an immediate impact after the break when Darcy Graham scored a try from a Finn Russell cross field kick. Things then took a turn for the worse for the home side when Zander Fagerson was yellow-carded for a dangerous challenge. An off-field review shortly afterwards elevated his punishment to a red card. Meanwhile, Pierre Schoeman scored Scotland's second try in the 54th minute to cut the deficit to 4-points. Scotland took a well deserved lead in the 64th minute when Dave Cherry forced his way over the line. Finn Russell slotted a penalty to extend Scotland's lead inside the final 10 minutes. France threatened deep into added time, but the Scotland defence held firm to secure a superb victory. A selection of match reports is listed below:
