South Africa condemned Wales to a heavy 52-16 loss in their final World Cup warm-up match at the Principality Stadium. The visitors had established a commanding 24-9 half-time lead with tries from Malcom Marx, Canan Moodie and Jesse Kriel, plus a contentious penalty try. The penalty try came about when Rio Dyer was judged to have slapped the ball out of play over the try line. After the break, Jesse Kriel ran in his second try when Pieter-Steph du Toit intercepted a Wales pass to set him free. Pieter-Steph du Toit then stretched over himself to score a try. Another interception saw man-of-the-match Canan Moodie score his second try. Damian Willemse brought up the half-century of points for the Springboks when he scored a try in the 69th minute.
