England v Australia Match Reports

Australia emerged 42-37 winners against England at Twickenham in a thrilling contest that remained in the balance until the very end. A bright start from England saw Chandler Cunningham-South score a brace of tries inside the first dozen minutes. The Wallabies clawed their way back into the half with tries from Tom Wright and Harry Wilson. A second penalty kick from Noah Lolesio edged Australia into a 20-18 lead at half-time. Jeremy Williams touched down in the 50th minute to give the Wallabies a third try and extend their lead. A third Lolesio penalty kick then took the visitors into a 10-point lead. Wallaby momentum was halted when Ollie Sleightholme scored twice to get England back on the front foot. With five minutes remaining, Andrew Kellaway picked up a loose ball and sped his way to the line for Australia's fourth try. Ben Donaldson's succesful conversion put the visitors back into a 5-point lead and appeared to have secured the match. But Maro Itoje crashed over in the 78th minute to bring England back level, and Smith converted to regain the lead with seconds remaining on the clock. Then, in the final play of the match, Len Ikitau offloaded to Max Jorgensen who sprinted clear to score the match-winning try for a jubilant Australia. A selection of match reports is listed below:
