Scotland v South Africa Match Reports

South Africa scored four tries as they beat Scotland 32-15 in an entertaining autumn Test at Murrayfield. A fast-paced first half saw the Springboks score three tries, including a brace from Makazole Mapimpi and one from Thomas du Toit. Scotland's job got harder when Scott Cummings was shown a yellow card for a croc-roll at the ruck, which was subsequently upgraded to a 20-minute red card. Three penalty kicks from Finn Russell meant the home side were still in the fight, trailing 19-9 at the break. Russell kicked a fourth penalty early in the second half to close the gap. Scotland started to retain possession and attack the Springboks from all angles, but ultimately failed to find their way across the try line. The pressure did yield some points when Russell kicked a fifth penalty on the hour mark. South Africa had weathered the storm and when Handre Pollard slotted two penalty kicks, they were leading by 10-points again heading into the closing stages. In the final play of the match, Jasper Wiese was driven over the line to seal the win for the Boks. A selection of match reports is listed below:
