England v Argentina Match Reports

England survived a spirited Argentina fightback to seal a 27-23 victory in their autumn finale at Twickenham. The hosts took control early, with George Ford opening the scoring with a ninth-minute drop-goal. Max Ojomoh pounced on a loose ball to score the first try, before turning provider with a cross-field kick that set up Immanuel Feyi-Waboso for a second. Tomas Albornoz responded with a penalty for Argentina, but England held a comfortable 17-3 half-time lead. The visitors made a strong start to the second half with a try from Justo Piccardo, before Albornoz kicked a second penalty. Replacement fly-half Santiago Carreras kicked a third penalty for the Pumas to cut the deficit to just one point heading into the final quarter. Momentum briefly turned when Henry Slade scored England's third try and Ford kicked a penalty to create a buffer. But Rodrigo Isgro scored a try in the 80th minute, which Carreras quickly converted to setup a nail-biting finish. Argentina reclaimed the kick-off and went close to scoring, but England held out for a narrow victory. A selection of match reports is listed below:
