A second-half surge saw the All Blacks defeat Ireland 26-13 to lift the Gallagher Cup in Chicago. Ireland suffered an early blow when Tadhg Beirne was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle, reducing them to 14 men for 20 minutes. Despite the setback, Jack Crowley opened the scoring with a penalty before Tadhg Furlong powered over for Ireland's first try. Ardie Savea replied for New Zealand, but Ireland held a narrow 10-7 lead at half-time.
