Wales v New Zealand Match Reports
Wales put up a decent fight but ultimately fell to a heavy 52-26 defeat against New Zealand in Cardiff. Caleb Clarke scored an early opening try for the All Blacks, before Ruben Love and Tamaiti Williams added further scores in a fast-paced and entertaining first half. Wales took their chances, though, with a brace of tries from Tom Rogers as they trailed 24-14 at half-time. Rogers completed a remarkable hat-trick shortly after the break as Wales cut the deficit to three points. New Zealand then had two tries disallowed in quick succession as Wales struggled to contain the visitors. The dam eventually burst when Rieko Ioane went over from a crossfield kick in the 51st minute. Replacement wing Sevu Reece then scored a brace of tries to open up a big gap on the scoreboard. Louis Rees-Zammit scored a consolation try for Wales in the 76th minute, but the All Blacks had the final say when Clarke scored their seventh try to wrap up a big win.
