England scored four tries as they beat Australia 40-16 in Oita to surge into the World Cup semi-finals. After a strong start, the Wallabies conceded two tries midway through the first half as Jonny May bagged a brace. Christian Lealiifano and Owen Farrell then traded penalty kicks before the first half ended 17-9. After the break, Australia again started strongly with Marika Koroibete racing in for a try. But England responded quickly as Kyle Sinckler went over for his first England try. Farrell added three more penalty kicks before Anthony Watson scored an interception try in the final minutes.
