Test centurion Michael Hooper is returning to the Australia team for their Autumn Nations Series opener against Scotland.

The 121-times capped flanker will appear for the Wallabies for the first time since the summer Test series decider against England in July.

Prop James Slipper will captain the visitors at BT Murrayfield as he makes his 124th international appearance.

Australia coach Dave Rennie said: “We’re rapt for Hoops. He’s been outstanding both on and off the field since re-entering the environment and he can’t wait to pull on the gold jersey again.

“We’ve had a great preparation over the past week or so and we’ll head to Murrayfield excited by the challenge Scotland will pose on Saturday.”
