Stuart Hogg to return for Glasgow in Champions Cup clash against Leinster
Stuart Hogg will make his comeback in Glasgow's Champions Cup tie with Leinster but there was mixed news for Scotland after hooker Fraser Brown was ruled out for up to eight weeks.
Brown will miss Scotland's Autumn Test series against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand after picking up a knee injury during Glasgow's opening defeat in the competition against Exeter last weekend.
Second-row forward Brian Alainu'uese will face a similar spell on the sidelines for Warriors after also suffering a knee problem.
Hogg will be back in action for the first time since a facial injury cut short his summer tour with the British and Irish Lions. The Scotland full-back later underwent shoulder surgery.
Despite being out of the team, Hogg has still made an impact on Dave Rennie since the head coach's summer arrival.
Rennie said: "Stuart Hogg has really impressed during his time out injured. The energy he brings is infectious, his contribution on and off the field is influential. He's got himself in great shape and is desperate to get back out there."
Warriors are looking to kick-start their campaign following a first defeat of the season in Devon, where a late try consigned them to a 24-15 reverse while Leinster were securing maximum points against Montpellier.
Rennie said: "This game was always a must-win, regardless of the Exeter result. In this competition you need to win your home games and we've prepared well and are raring to go.
"Leinster were impressive last week. We are expecting another arm wrestle. It'll be a brutal encounter."
Hogg replaces Ruaridh Jackson while Leonardo Sarto and Sam Johnson also come into the back division and George Turner steps in for Brown.
