Tom Jordan will make his first start for Scotland against South Africa at Murrayfield on Sunday.
The versatile New Zealand-born back, who made his debut as a replacement against Fiji last Saturday after qualifying on residency grounds, has been selected at full-back in place of his injured Glasgow colleague Kyle Rowe as one of four changes to the starting XV.
Toulouse’s Blair Kinghorn, Toulon scrum-half Ben White and Bath stand-off Finn Russell – all of whom were unavailable last weekend as the match took place outside the international window – are the three others added to Gregor Townsend’s side for the visit of the world champions.
Kinghorn, Scotland’s regular full-back, will start on the wing in place of Darcy Graham, who drops out with a head injury. White and Russell take over from last weekend’s half-back pairing of Ali Price and Adam Hastings, who both miss out entirely.
Former Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie is included among the substitutes after being a notable omission from the matchday 23 against Fiji.
Townsend has opted for a 6-2 bench, with Dylan Richardson, Rory Sutherland, Elliot Millar-Mills, Max Williamson and Josh Bayliss the other forwards, and Jamie Dobie and Stafford McDowall the two backs.
