Autumn Internationals 2025

The Autumn Internationals saw the four home unions – England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales – face the heavyweights of southern hemisphere rugby in a month-long festival of rugby.

Notable events from the 2025 autumn series include:

  • England completed a perfect four-from-four campaign to extend their winning run to 11 Tests
  • South Africa completed a clean sweep of five wins and ended the year at the top of the world rankings
  • Australia failed to win a single Test on their European tour for the first time in 67 years
  • Wales suffered their heaviest-ever defeat on home soil in a 73-0 loss to South Africa

Among the 15 matches contested between Six Nations and Rugby Championship teams, there were nine victories for southern hemisphere sides and six victories for northern hemisphere sides.

Next year will see the introduction of the new 'Nations Championship' tournament, with fixtures across both the Summer International and Autumn International Test windows in 2026.
